Yoga for Empaths
Are you an empath or highly sensitive person?
An empath is a person that is sensitive to the feelings of others.
It’s like compassion on overdrive, not only do we feel for other people, we can sometimes take on the feelings of other people.
Being an empath is a beautiful gift and can also be overwhelming and draining.
In order to protect yourself, and your energy it is helpful to be aware of how you are feeling and find practices to protect your energy before you are overwhelmed.
Yoga is a great tool to help you both gain self-awareness of how you are feeling, strengthen your intuition and to reset your body physically and emotionally when you are feeling drained or overwhelmed.
“Movement keeps us flexible so our muscles don’t contract and hold in negativity”
“Movement melts stress and relaxes us. It gets our endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers) flowing and decreases stress hormones.”
(Quotes from The Empaths Survival Guide by Judith Orloff)
1 hour of yoga asana (poses), 1 hour of yoga off the mat with tea and discussion. Stay for just the physical yoga practice or stay to sit, chat and connect with other empaths.
You will quickly find that there are other folks that have experiences similar to yours. We would love to grow our empath network, so join us!
